Recognize - Fred and Ginger

I was just pinteresting and noticed someone pinned a picture of this dazzling edifice designed by  Frank Gehry in collaboration with everybody's favorite Croatian-Czech architect Vlado Milunić (I have his poster up in my room). Like many thoughtful Pinterest users they described it perfectly -  "some funky building..." Now you can all see why I am awake and 10pm writing  blog post about a dancing building -- it's not JUST because all of the cool kids are doing it. pfff

 Easter Island-ish

The Nationale-Nederlanden is more than just some funky building...

"Originally named Fred and Ginger (after Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers – the house resembles a pair of dancers) the house stands out among the Baroque, Gothic and Art Nouveau buildings for which Prague is famous. Others have nicknamed it "Drunk House". (wikipedia.com

Like the majority of Gehry's work there's a lot to appreciate within every square foot & from many vantage points.  And as you can see I really enjoyed getting the chance to go right up under poor Ginger's skirt to get the sense of line and movement -- TWIRLY!

I was trying to frame the style of the adjacent building withing the context of Gehry's -- it's quite the contrast
